Beautiful: it's what every woman should feel, and we here at Photos By Orion want to help every woman experience the joy of seeing themselves in a beautiful portrait. While we believe that you were created beautiful just the way you are, we also understand that a little enhancement, by way of professional hair and makeup, goes a long way to helping you feel comfortable in front of the camera. That is why all shimmer sessions come with a professional hair and make-up artist included, so if you want a little pampering for your session it is yours!

As a conservative child of Budouir photography and old school Glamour photography, it can be a little nerve racking to think about coming in for a Shimmer session. That is why all Shimmer sessions include:

Hair and Make-up

A professional hair and make-up artist will be at your session so you can be confident you will look your best in your portraits.

Whether you want to go light and natural or bold and sassy our HMUA can help get the look you want.

Session for 2

You are welcome to bring a friend to your session. They will receive the same benefits as you do, hair and make-up service and a 1 hour session, and it is included in the session price. Your friend is always welcome to purchase thier own portraits if they choose.

Shimmer sessions make a great opportunity for mother/daughter, best friend, couples, or bridal party portraits, as well as making a wonderful gift for a fiance or spouse.

Consultation

Get the most from your session by coming in and talking through wardrobe, color/background, prop and product options. We want to help you get the most from your Shimmer session!

Contemporary Portraiture

Shimmer portraits use a style similar to those seen on the cover of a fashion magazine. We get beautiful, sexy (if appropriate) portraits all while keeping your clothes on. If you have ever considered budouir photography but weren't comfortable being semi-nude, Shimmer is a great alternative.

The Session

Our sessions are built to help you be comfortable and get the best photos possible. When you are comfortable it shows in your photos. Our session works like this:

Consultation

Before your session, you have a complementary consultation, either in studio or over the phone, (though in-person in the studio is best) to discuss outfit choices and give you the most from your session.

Session

Your session appointment starts with a visit from my hair and make-up artist (if you want one, it is all included). This service is included not to recreate you, but to enhance your natural beauty. We believe you are beautiful just the way you are, so let us help you flaunt it!
Then, slide around the corner and in front of the studio lights for a one hour fashion session. Kathryn will help guide you through sweet, sexy, and gorgeous poses showing off the beautiful you.

The Reveal and your portraits

After the session, you will be invited back once more to see your portraits and to choose which you want to take home. The session includes 5 5x7 prints and their digital copies, so come ready to choose your favorites!
